OXFORDSHIRE BLUE PLAQUES SCHEME

Funding and Ceremonies

Funding

The Board, as a voluntary organisation with no funding of its own, must seek specific donations from a range of relevant sources, typically from those associated with the person or subject commemorated, such as academic institutions, local government, community and cultural groups or individuals such as family and friends. A proposer, however, should not be deterred by not knowing of a source of funding. The cost of manufacture and installation of a Blue Plaque is presently up to £750/£800. In general donations of any amount in support of the scheme are always welcome.

Ceremonies

The Board will work with the supporters of a plaque to arrange an unveiling ceremony and associated publicity.
